8 ways to celebrate Pride after the parade in Dublin next weekend

Plenty of options.

1. Spinster’s ‘LADYZ’ party at Bad Bobs in Temple Bar.

If you want to be surrounded by wlw after this year’s parade, then Spinster is probably the place you want to head to. Their usual DJs will be there, as well as RTÉ 2fm’s Louise McSharry. Tickets are €14, with €1 from each sale going to Trans Equality Network Ireland.

2. Samantha Mumba at Opium

This year, Dublin’s Pride Festival are having an official after-party at Opium on Wexford Street, where Samantha Mumba will be performing. It’s not often an opportunity to see Samantha Mumba perform live comes up, so you should make the most of it. Tickets for this event are €15. Conor Behan will also be DJing at this event, if Samantha Mumba was not reason enough to go.

3. Mother’s Block Party at Tivoli Theatre

After the parade, Mother will be hosting another 11-hour-long party at Tivoli Theatre in Dublin 8. It could potentially be the last pride event held in this venue before it’s knocked down and turned into apartments and hotel rooms. There’ll be performances at this event from Soulé, as well as the one and only Nadine Coyle.

4. GOLD Post Parade Party at Outhouse on Capel Street

On the day of the parade, it can feel pretty impossible to go out afterwards while avoiding ending up in an environment where everyone’s drinking or drunk. From 3pm onward, GOLD are hosting their annual alcohol free Post Parade Party at Outhouse. All ages are welcome, too.

 5. Queer Action Ireland will also be arranging a social event following the parade

Last year, this group marched on Dublin Pride for the first time alongside the Ireland Palestine Solidarity Campaign, MERJ (Migrants and Ethnic-minorities for Reproductive Justice) and several other activist groups showing their solidarity.

Queer Action Ireland aim to take Pride back to its political roots, and call attention to the increasing commercialisation of Pride in Ireland. Their bloc will return this year, with an event afterwards open to all anti-capitalist, anti-assimilation and anti-homonormative queers who are sick of what Pride has become. The event’s location is TBA, so keep an eye on their Facebook page if you’re interested.

6. Drop, Drag, Gorgeous at The Mercantile on Dame Street
